Welcome to webpage of the Mount Holly Township Board of Education. The Board is an elected, unpaid group of five citizens who set policy and make decisions on educational, financial, and personnel matters for the Mount Holly Township Public Schools on behalf of all residents of Mount Holly Township. The Board is always pleased when members of the community attend board meetings. Please see the 2020 schedule of regular board meetings.
The Board and the school district operate under applicable New Jersey laws and under regulations of the New Jersey State Board of Education.
Each meeting includes opportunities for those attending to comment on matters on the public agenda, as well as other matters of interest to them. The Board reserves the right to limit the time allotted to public participation. Law limits discussion of individual personnel.
We desire sincerely that our meetings will provide useful opportunities for communication between the Board and the community. Thank you for attending this meeting.

ANNUAL SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2020
The Mount Holly Township Board of Education has one(1) vacancy for full term membership to the Board of Education in the Annual School Election.
The nominating petitions for that election are due to the county clerk by 4 p.m. on the last Monday in July.
On July 20, Gov. Phil Murphy signed S-1974, which requires that a nominating petition for any state, county, school, or municipal elective public office include a functioning email address for the candidate
School board secretaries and anyone interested in board member candidacy can find sample nominating petitions and information on candidacy at www.njsba.org/candidacy.
Ballot Bracketing On May 30, S-868/A-2030, was enacted, which allows board of education candidates to circulate a nominating petition jointly and to be bracketed together on the ballot. NJSBA has both types of sample petitions—individual filing and joint filing—posted on its Candidates Kit web page.
Some county boards of elections require the use of a county-specific nominating petition and other forms. Board candidates should contact their county clerk for details concerning the proper form(s) to use for candidacy in the November 2020 elections.
ELECTION MOVED TO NOVEMBER
On January 25, 2012 the Mount Holly Township Board of Education passed a Resolution moving the Annual School Election from April to the November General Election to elect Board of Education Members and for other lawful purposes. In addition, the Board voted to eliminate the vote on the School District Budget if it is at or below the State Mandated Cap of 2%. The adoption of this Resolution was made possible by both bodies of the New Jersey State Legislature (Assembly and Senate) overwhelmingly passing Bills S-3148 and A-4394 (identical Bills). The adoption of this change in the election date and budget vote will remain in effect for four years. Please refer to Senate Bill 3148 and Assembly Bill 4394 for details of the legislation. Please access the below links for the Board Resolution and a Synopsis of the Budget Election Law.
