Every Child, Learns, Every Day, in Every Classroom

at the John Brainerd Elementary School

Thank you for visiting our school website. I hope that the information provided will help you get to know more about our school and understand why we are so proud of our students and staff. At the John Brainerd Elementary School we are committed to providing children with an enriching and joy filled education in a caring, child-centered atmosphere.

Please know that I value your input on all matters related to your child’s education and encourage you to call or email if you have a question, concern or idea that you’d like to share. By working together, we can ensure that your child is successful, productive and happy in school.

Just a few things we are looking forward to this school year:  Book Fairs, Photo Days, Fun Fridays, Monthly PRIDE Assemblies,  Family Nights, Classroom Parties, After School Tutoring, School Trips and lots of exciting learning opportunities.

Staff and students will also set goals to “Give Back” to our community. Staff and students in each grade level will brainstorm and choose and one service learning project to participate in throughout the school year.

I mentioned all the great things we do as a school because it comes from an extremely dedicated group of professionals who never walk away from any undertaking that is always for the betterment for the Brainerd students.  I am honored to be the educational leader at Brainerd School.

I look forward to again working collaboratively with the Brainerd PTA in their efforts to support our students and staff this year.  Their enthusiasm and positive energy is contagious.  Please consider joining this amazing organization.

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.  Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.  It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.  It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill.  It will make or break a company…a church…a home.  The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.  We cannot change the inevitable.  The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude…I am convinced that life is ten percent what happens to me and ninety percent how I react to it.  And so it is with you…we are in charge of our Attitudes.”  Dr. Charles Swindol
